Automatic Lane Change System on Highway
Chung Choo Chung (Prof., Department of Electrical and Biomedical Engineering, Hanyang University)
May 27 (Fri) 11:00 / Building 133 Room 316-1
In this talk, we introduce “automatic lane change system on highway” which is a 5 year project sponsored by Korean Government. During the talk, we are going to discuss control issues on intelligent autonomous driving vehicle. Both kinematic and dynamic vehicle models for lane keeping systems will be presented. From sensing, recognition, decision, control to actuation, we present how our vehicles is integrated for “automatic lane change system on highway.” Stability issues raised in multi-rate and asynchronous system are discussed. In addition, fail operation will be introduced for autonomous driving system using advanced driver assistance system.
Chung Choo Chung received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, in 1981 and 1983, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, in 1993, all in electrical engineering. Since 1997, he has been a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Hanyang University, Korea. He was the program chair of 2015 IEEE Intelligent Vehicle Sympoisum in Seoul. He was a guest editor for a special issue published by IEEE Trans. on Control System Technologies (TCST). Since 2013, he has been an Associate Editor (AE) of TCST. From 2016, he also joins the editorial board of IFAC journal Mechatronics and IEEE Trans. on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) as AE. Further, he is co-editor of an invited issue of "Vehicle control technology for autonomous driving", IEEE ITS Magazine. He is currently a project leader of the government sponsored program, "Automatic Lane Changing System for Novice Drivers on Highway"
